$Your closet is prime real estate. Are there any pieces that are wasting your excellent space?  Your end goal is only to have what you wear in your closet.

Create smaller piles to work with, based on type- I always have clients create a work/ fun pile. Put your “work” pieces in a pile and your “play” pieces in a bank.

🗑 What to get rid of: You want to get rid of anything you have not worn in a year. Throw out anything that has permanent stains, holes, ill-fitting drunk purchases (you know most of us have done this), even me- etc.

ANYTHING THAT DOES’NT MAKE YOU FEEL GREAT! There’s a reason you have not worn certain pieces.

🥵  Don’t overthink it- just put it in the to-sell/donation pile.

😭 Don’t get too sentimental-put a limit of 3 pieces for sentimental and store them elsewhere if possible.

NO GOING BACK TO THE SCENE OF THE CRIME!

Try on on everything- This provides a great blueprint of what you never need to buy again, what you will wear, and what is missing.

It’s a great learning process to go through because you will learn to make better purchases,  and you will purchase with intention vs. spontaneously.

✽Buy for your current size, not your ideal size. Shop smart and make repairs when necessary. Dry-cleaners and tailors can work wonders to save a good wardrobe staple, but don’t hang on to anything that is: ill-fitting, permanently damaged, not your style anymore, and that doesn’t make you feel great!

📝TIME TO ORGANIZE

The most important part is transforming your closet into a peaceful area. You want to feel like your’e shopping at a boutique when you’re in your closet. Take inspiration from your favorite stores and recreate it!🥳

✽First, get the strongest and thinnest hangers you can find. I prefer the rubberized hangers from Container Store. All of your clothes will be hanging on the same level and will be easily seen.

HANG all categories together- camis, tees👚 👕 , blouses, and dresses👗

✽ then organize by color and type.

: From left to right, I recommend starting with whites, neutrals, darks, prints

: sleeveless to short sleeve, to long-sleeve dresses, and from neutral to darker colors to prints

👖 Denim put all denim in the same section and separate by clean to destroyed light to dark, cropped to long

MEN

*Same rules from women’s above  for men’s clothing*

👔TIES/POCKET SQUARES: START WITH SOLIDS GO FROM LIGHT TO DARK THEN TO PRINT AND SEPARATE BLACK TIE PIECES FROM BUSINESS CASUAL
