Check out our interview with Pink Magazine on how to sport fur at the Office!

Long before Hollywood starlets graced the silver screen with luxurious fox and soft mink stoles, fur indicated status and class. But the ’60s animal rights movement pushed fur out of fashion favor. Nowadays, more and more designers are showing fur is back.

“Whether you’re for or against fur, you have options,” says Robanne Schulman, fashion guru, celebrity stylist and founder of Plaid Monkey. “The key to wearing the trend is to remember to go lightly with fur – a little goes a long way.”

Designer Dominic Bellissimo is well known for his elegant fur jackets and accessories. If, like PETA, you’d rather go naked than wear real fur, designers like BB Dakota and Rebecca Taylor have a large selection of faux furs in their winter collections.

“It’s all about mixing fabrics,” says Schulman. If you’re looking for a transitional outfit that’s great for a client lunch or after-work drinks, try pairing some dressy cigarette pants with a cashmere sweater and a chic fur vest.

For the minimalist, we like this fur-trimmed cardigan from Jones New York.
